The Happy Oasis That You Helped Me Create — A Sonnet to my Husband.

Together, we’ve found this oasis that I can’t quite describe

A beautiful oasis that seemingly became our home

It was so scary at first, but we had actually found our tribe

So, I wanted to write about what it was like in this poem.

It was the end of July when our lives had completely changed

But that day was very, very beautiful. Oh, yes, indeed.

I’m absolutely fine with how everything else rearranged

Because, in the end, we both got exactly what we did need.

I was so utterly nervous and I could see it within you as well

And there was nothing that could prepare us for this level of joy

I found that I really didn’t know anything as far as I could tell

For everything seemed to melt away, the moment we met our boy

-

So, here we are, finally on the road to happily ever after

And it makes me so happy to live in this household full of laughter
